Description
Flower Face is a fresh and floral tea, like a spring meadow.
It is inspired by Blodeuwedd from Welsh mythology.
Ingredients: Darjeeling, Meadowsweet, Lemon Verbena, Hibsicus, Rose
70g (35 serves)
A short summary of Blodeuwedd:
A powerful warrior named Lleu Llaw has a tynged (fate) placed on him by his mother, Arianrhod (who doesn’t consider Lleu her son), that he shall never marry a human wife. To circumvent this, two powerful magicians, Math and Gwydion, create a woman out of flowers for Lleu and name her Blodeuwedd. However, Blodeuwedd conspires to kill her husband, which leads to her being transformed into an owl as punishment.
While the story is originally framed as a cautionary tale about the importance of loyalty, this tea favours a retelling that emphasises Blodeuwedd’s independence and freedom
Blodeuwedd means “flower face” in Welsh
